Turning call forwarding off

This is the one worth knowing before anything else.

Uninstalling the app does not stop your calls being forwarded. Forwarding is a setting at your mobile carrier, not something the app holds. Removing the app leaves it switched on, and your calls will keep going to a number that is no longer answering for you.

Two ways to switch it off:

  • In the app — turn the forwarding switch off. This is the one to use, because the app then confirms with the network that it actually cleared.
  • From the dialler — dial ##004# and press call (on Jio, dial *413). That clears call forwarding at your carrier. It works whether or not the app is installed.

If you are switching phones, cancel forwarding on the old one first.

A call was not answered

Worth checking, in this order:

  • Is forwarding still on? Carriers sometimes drop the setting, particularly after a network change or a new SIM. The app shows the current state.
  • Did the caller hang up first? Forwarding only starts after your phone has rung for a while — usually around 20 to 25 seconds. Someone who rings off before that never reaches the assistant.
  • Was your phone switched off or out of coverage? Some carriers handle that case with a different forwarding rule.
  • Did you answer it yourself? Calls you take never reach us, which is the point.

If none of those explain it, send us the caller's number and roughly when they rang, and we will look at what happened on our side.

The assistant spoke the wrong language

It picks the language from what the caller says, and switches mid-call if they switch. If it settles on the wrong one, set the language on that person's contact group — a group's language overrides the guess. Tell us too, because a wrong guess on a common phrase is something we can fix for everyone.

Recordings

  • Recording is off until you turn it on. With it off, you still get the transcript and the summary of every call — just no audio.
  • Recordings are deleted after 30 days. You can delete them all at once in Settings > Privacy & data. Transcripts and summaries are kept until you delete them.
  • Telling the caller they are being recorded is a separate switch. We recommend turning it on; whether recording without it is lawful depends on where you and the caller are, and that is your call to make. See the Terms.

The assistant agreed to something

It should never do that. It is built to take a message and tell you, never to accept, confirm, book, buy or promise anything on your behalf. If it appears to have agreed to something, that is a bug and we want to see it — send us the call and we will look at the transcript.

Privacy, your data, and deleting it

  • Privacy Policy — what is collected, who else sees it, how long it is kept.
  • Delete your account and data — how to ask, and what goes.
  • If you are not a user but a number of yours appears in the service, write to us and we will remove it.

Reporting something serious

A security problem, a privacy problem, or something the assistant said that it should not have — email with what happened and when. Please do not post a security issue publicly before we have had a chance to fix it.

Complaints

For a formal complaint about your data or the service, write to our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge within 48 hours and answer within 7 days.
